Once again I have neglected Malenadressage.com! Since I have been putting most of our updates via Facebook. 2016 has been a very busy and successful year, I will try to do a quick recap …
Our Florida season was filled with big Tour CDI’s, Cesar Lopardo Grana showed his mare Tyara with great success, and also gave me the opportunity to show her myself in a couple of GP CDI’s collecting a few ribbons in the GP Freestyle.
In the spring we moved to a new location in Bedford NY. We shared Watch Hill Farm with Karin Persson (Stonebridge Sport Horses). It was a great scenario for Malena Dressage. Karin and I worked really well together, and we were able to help each other through out the season, as well as working with fabulous clinicians such as Ulf Moller and Chris Theallet. Also, having another trainer at the barn allowed me to travel monthly to teach clinics.
We had a very successful summer in the show ring. I was able to show Nancy Pine’s lusitano stallion, Zodiaco HM in the INT 1 classes earning scores up to 68% and qualifying for Regional Championships, and my student Brooke Alexander had a fantastic season with her PRE gelding “Trio”, including 3rd place in her first CDI, and Reserve Champion PSG Reg. Championships.
In other news, my very loved GP horses have been relocated. Our magnificent mare “Tyara” was sold to Rebecca Lord in July, and we are beyond happy with their partnership. And last but not least my old partner Koa has started his well deserved retired life in Brewster NY.
In the middle of December Toto and I will be joining the Hassler Dressage Team for the season. I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I couldn’t ask for a better situation. Scott has been helping me on and off with different horses since 2007, I can’t wait to soak up all the knowledge and develop my wonderful horse to the fullest.
